Out of State Moving Services

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT use this carrier to do your move. It took 30 days to get our stuff and once we got it, almost every piece of furniture had damage of some kind done to it, one furniture item was totally destroyed, nearly every box and plastic tub had been crushed and so many items inside were damaged and lastly, several of the boxed and plastic tub items never made it here at all. They have no idea where there are either. Very poor communication. They charged us triple of what the original estimate would be and knowing that a semi thrice would not be able to make a delivery to our area on the narrow road, they sent it anyway and charged us $650 to shuttle it in on a straight truck. Not only that, only 2/3 of our items were delivered initially, even with the semi, and we had to wait another week for the remaining items to be sent on a smaller truck and still have items missing. The broker that hired them to do our move never bothered to check their BBB rating, which I found to be an F. Stay away from this mover..14 complaints in3 yrs according to BBB.

I really wanted to like these guys hired by Gold Standard Relocation.
Gold Standard submitted a quote far below what the movers charged by an additional $1,600 and left half our belongings. They said our furniture was bulky and that we needed a second truck. They were correct, but the Initial pricing was horrible.
But when the furniture arrived at our new house - I was appalled they even tried to consider this gold standard/white glove:
Smoking near mattress when packing
Rugs left in garage unrolled
Furniture with glass removed not re- installed - can’t find some piece
Kitchen table - they lost bolts and left it loose!!
All my boxes were labeled cleared by room. - the left all kitchen boxes in the basement.
Mattress delivered with frame and just dumped on floor.
Just a disaster.

Stay away from this motor carrier! Over a week has passed since the date they promised to deliver our things in Massachusetts from Illinois and we've got nothing. Yesterday they said they'd deliver today and that they'd call us last night with an estimated time of day. We got no call last night and no call today. We've been calling them repeatedly and it's very hard to get a human being on the phone. I couldn't even leave a voice message because the voice mailbox was full! Our call finally reached a human late this afternoon and they said the delivery could be today, maybe tomorrow. They promised to call us 3-4 hours before delivery, but that has yet to happen. We have no idea when we'll see our stuff.

In addition to this inexcusable delay and lack of reasonable communication, the driver who picked up our things crashed into a fence at the pick-up location. They demanded $1,000 in cash without telling us ahead of time that they wouldn't accept other forms of payment. They charged us "bulky item" fees for appliances that are standard sizes and which we fully disclosed while getting our estimate. The owner of the broker moving company even admitted to us that these guys are awful!

They broke the legs of an antique family table made of sturdy oak. They threw two lampshades in a box with no packing (they wrapped my dog's light fleece coat around one -- oh that's where that went, no of course they didn't ask permission to use it! -- good thing I had delayed buying a replacement) and the glass one shattered and the metal one was broken and needs repair. A plaster statue has the nose broken. And two items listed were not delivered and are apparently lost track of -- who knows if they will really find these, and if they are unbroken as both were breakable. I am livid and I can only imagine the difficulty working through claims will be. Also they raised $300 to rent a U-Haul for shuttle as they said the tractor-trailer would not fit n my street, but a friend knowledgeable in transportation said it absolutely would have fit.
